Vioxx Drug
Vioxx drug was intended for arthritis sufferers, however research on Vioxx drug shows that patients have an increased risk of suffering heart attacks compared to patients using alternative medication than Vioxx drug users. In addition, Vioxx drug has been linked to other serious conditions. First approved in 1999, the FDA also linked Vioxx drug to instances of meningitis in 2002.
Researchers are also questioning if Vioxx drug affects bone repair. It took the FDA over a year to approve Vioxx drug labeling changes, warning Vioxx drug users of serious cardiovascular thromboembolic adverse events, such as heart attacks, angina pectoris, and peripheral vascular events. Vioxx drug manufacturer has been criticized for the aggressive marketing the company had been involved with between Vioxx drug and Vioxx drug competitor Celebrex. The close competition between Vioxx drug and Celebrex company resulted in exaggerated and unsupported claims according to many critics.
